Seriously, dudes

In some countries, people aren't allowed to work for more than 35 hours a week. they get sent home. or they aren't paid. or something, I don't really know.

But in this country, even if you work 35 hours in two days, you still have to come back for that third day. And the fourth day, and the fifth day, etc etc after that. And keep on pulling 18 hour days. and for all this, I still have to pay for my own health care.

The way that I've been putting it most often is like this: imagine a world where you work your 8 hour day. Now, instead of going home, or going shopping or to the cleaners, or even to a movie after this 8 hour day, you stick around and work for another 8 hours. Only then can you leave, sleep for 4 hours, and begin the cycle anew. Think about this world, think about what it's like to put in two full days at a time without a break. It's like taking a set of stairs two at a time forever and ever and ever.

Anyway, my point is that this is the world I am currently living.
